Following their magnificent performances at the National Cross Country Championships on 20th February in Callendar Park, two young Vics have been chosen for the East of Scotland team for the Inter County Championships and World Cross Country Championship Trials in Birmingham on 13th March.

Under 15, Dale Colley who won the silver medal in a thrilling finish at the Scottish Championships will once again line up against Ayr Seaforths Finlay Rae who he out dipped at Callendar Park to claim silver. Dale is the reigning East of Scotland Champion and will be hoping the extra 500 metres at the trials will prevent such a close finish this time around, although is sure to be aiming for a similar result.

Jamie Stevenson has also been selected for the East Team in the under 20 age group. The British International Orienteerer is rewarded for his fine run at the nationals where he finished 12th in a strong field.

The action, which is live on Sky Sports 4 from 11am, will see the UK’s best cross country runners battle it out for places at the World Championships in Poland on the same weekend as the local Round the Houses and Jim Dingwall Memorial 10km Race.

Good Luck to both boys.
