World Master Athletics Indoor Championships

Alex Bryce enjoyed a successful World Indoor Championships in Jyväskylä, Finland finishing an excellent 6th, and first British athlete, in both the 800m and 1500m in the M50+ age group. Alex qualified in third in place in the fastest of the three 800m semi finals just behind Germany's Peter Oberliessen, the eventual winner. The semi final was won by Algeria's Aissa Hecini who went on to win the silver medal in the final. Following such a hard semi final Alex went quicker in the final recording a time of 2 min 10.96secs finishing 6th in a very close race.

After a couple of days rest Alex eased through the semi final of the 1500m in a heat which once again had the eventual gold and silver medalists at the front of the field. In the following days final Alex again produced a quicker run than his semi final recording an excellent time of 4min 28.61 secs to again finish 6th, rounding off an excellent Championship for The Falkirk Victoria Harrier athlete.
