The Glasgow University 5 mile Road Race

On Saturday 30th November in the midst of a busy race period, Mike McQuaid was the sole Harrier to make the journey to compete in the Glasgow University 5 Mile Road Race a long-running and popular race on the outskirts of the City of Glasgow. With the start in the Garscube Sports Complex, the race follows a 2 lap course round quiet roads with a good balance of flat running and some hilly sections.

Mike’s enthusiasm was rewarded by winning the over-40 prize in a thrilling sprint finish with three others of the same peer group in posting a time of 28.42 minutes to finish 19th overall in a quality field of 150 runners.
