Winter Monthly Time Trials

November Time Trial

Report

This months time trial gave the hardy trialists their first taste of the classic Harriers 3 mile Caley trail. Thankfully, after the recent monsoons they were blessed with a glorious Autumn morning that promised strong running over the testing course.

Top master athlete Stevie Moore made his debut in the series and although having never been round the route posted an impressive 18.21. Stevie remarked afterwards that unlike Cumbernauld a couple of weeks ago there were actually some parts of the Caley trail where you could get a rhythm going!

If Stevie was blissfully unaware of demands of the course the junior trialists knew only too well what lay in store! Sarah Hamilton pushed guest athlete Lynne Murray all the way and recorded a new PB and the fastest time of the day with 20.54.

Katherine Mitchell, together with Jane and Helen Ainslie, had recorded times in last years series and were rewarded with new PBs for the route. This reinforces the rationale of the Time Trial series which is to drive up performance.

Next month returns to the shorter 1.5 mile trial (though seniors are welcome to do 2 laps) and in keeping with Christmas tradition all time trialists will receive a present from the man in red (or should that be fluorescent yellow if Gordon has that jacket on!)

Look forward to seeing you on the 12 December at 9.30am.
