Falkirk Victoria Harriers
Lochaber Marathon
Sunday 18th April 2010
Five Harriers took on one of the early marathons of the year, and also one of the most scenic marathons.
Starting in Fort William, this out and back course wound along the A830 Mallaig road, along the side of Loch Eil, giving the runners breath-taking views of the highlands, with Ben Nevis visible all the way back into Fort William.
The weather was kind to the runners, the majority getting some sun burn as the clouds parted, certainly better weather than the Chris Hoy half that had taken part on the same day.
A strong field of 342 took part, with a number of PB's falling on the flat course. This is certainly one to try for a quick time, but remember to leave some energy in reserve for a small climb back into town at 21 miles.
