Haddington Festival 5 mile Road Race

Round 5 of the Vics Road Running Championships took place in Haddington on Saturday 5th June, and they were greated by what can only be described as BBQ weather. 

With the heat rising, a field of 113 took the start line, and they took to a route which took in quiet rural roads on the outskirts of the town. 

There weren't too many hills on the course, one sharp climb at 0.5 miles, and a couple of undulations at 2 and 4 miles, but the remainder of the course was pretty flat.  Unfortunately with the heat somwhere in the mid-20's, not great running was expected as there was little shade on route, and after a couple of miles, many wished they had stayed in the park to enjoy the atmosphere.

Round 6 goes to Dunfermline for the Half Marathon on the 13th June, with entries closing on the 10th June.
