England Athletics U15,17&20 Indoor Championships

Birmingham Saturday - Sunday 26/27th February 2011

Four Falkirk Vics made the long journey down south to the English Indoor Championships in Birmingham to mix it with the best in Britain and they all held their heads high in what was a very competitive meeting.

Under 15 Athlete, Charlotte Lillington put in a creditable performance to finish 4th equal in the High Jump.

Ella Gibbons just missed out on bronze finishing 4th achieving 5.30m in the U17 long jump against the best long jumpers in Britain, Ella can be proud of her achievements over the weekend.

Douglas Paul competed in the long jump and the triple jump in what was a very experienced field.  In the triple jump he recorded 11.67m and in the long jump he faired better with a jump of 6.22m. Douglas will take a lot away from this weekend.

Dale Colley got through the 800m heats in what was well more like a boxing match, there were elbows flying all over the place and he had to hurdle a runner who had been tripped but he managed to get through to the final.
Dale finished 5th in the final with a time of 1.59.38 in what was a winning time of 1.54.80, this is an astonishing time as no Scottish runner has ever got near that for an indoor event.

Congratulations to all of them in what was a very difficult championship and hopefully use this experience for the Scottish indoor Championships this weekend at Kelvin Hall.
