Indoor Report

3rd to 7th February 2010

 

Over the 4 days, 8 Golds, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze were won by Falkirk Victoria Harrier athletes and of these, a total of 5 Golds, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze were won in the jumps area.

First up the schools with 5 Golds, 1 Silver and 1 bronze.

The first Gold went to Amy Grant on Wednesday 3rd in the O16 Girls Pole Vault with a clearance of 3m.

On Thursday 4th,  Douglas Paul won the U16 Boys High Jump with a new PB of 1.83m, he later pulled out of the Long Jump while lying 4th because of a sore calf muscle.

Next up was Ella Gibbons, with a Silver in the High Jump, jumping 1.63. Later on, she would go onto win the Long Jump, with her last jump of 5.35m.

Completing the Jumps medals was Fraser Weir 3rd with a jump of 1.85 in the O16 Boys.

On the Track, Hollie Lister and Amy Manson were 1st and 3rd in the U16 Girls 300m, with times of 43s and 44.8s and to cap off a fantastic day Dale Colley won the U16 Boys 1500m race with a time of 4.20.7.

Then on Saturday 6th at the Seniors Indoors, FVH picked up 2 more Golds and 1 Bronze and a Scottish Record.

Jade Nimmo broke the Scottish indoor record on her first jump of 6.06 in the Long Jump. Kim Skinner also won the Pole Vault with an excellent leap of 4m.

Douglas Paul who at only 15 was the youngest winner of a medal (3rd) with a jump of 13.10m in the Triple Jump.

Not to be out done, Ella Gibbons won the U17 Womens Long Jump at the Birmingham Games on Sunday 7th with a jump of 5.19. All 3 leaps over 5.13 were 10cm behind board, so things are looking good, if not tired
