Dechmont Law 10K Trail race 14th June 2009

A large contingent of 11 Harriers took part in the Dechmont Law 10K trail race at Livingston on what was a fine day, even warm enough for David to ditch his T-shirt and only wear his Harrier’s running vest.

For those who have experienced the winters X-country, many elements of the course were the same, with many turns, slopes but being summer, drier with the addition of nettles and midgies.

Regular roadrunner Tony Devlin was the first harrier home to finish in 6th place overall in a fantastic time,
given the nature of the course, of 36mins 42secs. Barry Paterson who also clocked a fabulous time, followed him close behind in 12th for a time of 37mins53secs.

Euan Martin now injury free finished in 25th place overall to be the 1st Junior (Under 20) male.
John Martin who along with Dave Robertson judged their pace well, moving steadily through the field to finish 35th and 36th respectively followed by John and David closely behind for fear of missing out on the feast at the finish.

New member Neil White a prolific race participator followed with Christine and Elaine being nip and tuck as throughout this year with Christine prevailing on this occasion.

After the drinks and eats we were all presented with a goody bag, with some containing the additional surprise of a spot prize voucher which could be redeemed for a prize of your choice which for many was another T-shirt.
